Remember Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk? He’s the same judge who tried to remove mifepristone from the market by rescinding the FDA approval of it. He has a history of opposing LGBTQ rights and is known for his hostility toward anything or anyone associated with the gay or transgender communities. Before being nominated to the bench, Kacsmaryk was the deputy general counsel for the First Liberty Institute, a conservative legal organization focused on religious liberty cases. In a 2015 article arguing against the Equality Act, Kacsmaryk wrote that the proposed legislation, which would prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity, would “punish dissenters, giving no quarter to Americans who continue to believe that marriage and sexual relations are reserved to the union of one man and one woman.”

So, the scorecard thus far:

- Reproductive rights come under his purview.

- If you’re gay or transgender, you’ll find him unsympathetic, to say the least.

For me, his latest atrocity tops them all. Last week, this evil prick blocked the Biden administration from implementing a new rule that requires sellers at gun shows and online to get licenses and conduct background checks. The rule closes what’s known as the “gun show loophole.” According to the Penn State McCourtney Institute for Democracy, 86% of Americans want mandatory background checks for all gun purchases. As I’ve said many times, you can’t even get that many Americans to agree that Mother’s Day is a good thing. Yet, here’s another whacko deferring to the side of gun worshippers rather than plain common sense and saving lives.

Cruelty is a pillar of Trump’s personality as well as his disciples. With his rulings, Kacsmaryk is yet another character from The Handmaid’s Tale. As horribly corrupt as Judge Aileen Cannon is (and will hopefully be removed from the documents case by the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals), Kacsmaryk makes her look like Sandra Day O’Connor by comparison. Even SCOTUS Justice Neil Gorsuch is tired of these nutters. When you’ve lost Neil, you gotta know you’re batshit crazy.

Except this guy, like all the others cut from the same cloth, thinks he’s doing God’s righteous bidding. And like the others, he’s a domestic terrorist.
